How it Works

Merchant identifications and classifications can be retrieved by Posting transaction details to the Merchant endpoint. Segmint’s transaction cleansing service ingests this data and transforms the complex, cluttered description into a simple, easily understood merchant name. Additionally the solution provides two levels of merchant classification that provides context to the data tag so that you know if Pirate’s Cove is a Miniature Golf establishment or a Themed Restaurant.

This stand-alone solution requires no other data sources to be provided by the institution. However, to help train our algorithms for your unique customer data, Segmint requests a set of seed transaction data. For optimal results, we prefer this historical file to contain 6 months of data.

KLI (Insights) and UCIC (Customers)

When an institution engages with Segmint to deploy the Customer Insights product, Segmint works with the institution to identify the data sources they wish to use to build customer insights. Upon receipt of these recurring data feeds, Segmint analyzes the data and returns a library of customer insights and data tags known as Key Lifestyle Indicators (KLIs). Customers included in the data set are assigned one or more KLIs (insights) based on the data received. These insights describe the customer’s financial products, their utilization of those products, their activity with held-away accounts and details about their merchant transactions.

The KLI (Insights) and UCIC (Customers) Get endpoints provide access to detail about these insights and the customer insight profiles. The data available from these endpoints are updated as often as data is received from the Institution, which is typically daily, but can be as often as real time.

Clicks, Influences (Product Openings) and Impressions (Ads Served)

Institutions that use the Segmint Marketing platform to deliver personalized insight driven messages to their customers will additionally have access to Clicks, Influences (product openings) and Impressions (Ads Served) data.

The Click endpoint allows a user to retrieve a list of customers that clicked on messages (ads) served to them. Pull all click data or filter click data based on the campaign goal or click date. The Influences (Product Openings) and Impression (Ads Served) Get endpoints allow a user to retrieve lists of products opened by a single customer or by a group of customers and the set of impressions that influenced customer to open the product.
